There are two components to Increased Safety of Children while travelling on School Buses:

1. Visibility and Traceability of the school bus/driver
2. Visibility and traceability of the children while entering, being transported and exiting the bus

Traceability of the Bus/Driver with GPS:

• Confirm the bus location & route taken in real time by identifying every turn as well as timed reporting
• Complete set of reports such as Detailed Trip, Daily summary, Exception, Distance, History, Marker, Stop and Start and more with options to customize - Avetrium can create or customize reports to suit your needs.
• Monitor Speed, Idling, Fuel Consumption,
• Set geo-fences and receive alerts when buses enter or leave those areas
• Monitor Hard Braking/Hard Cornering/Hard Acceleration - for those times when you require facts to prove or disprove an allegation or complaint
• Monitor Engine Diagnostics such as RPM's, transmission and engine temperature and Send Automatic Alerts in real time (low battery, other vehicle related problems). In the case of an engine problem that needs to be dealt with immediately, an alert would be sent to the bus company dispatch in real time. At the end of the day for those buses returning to a central bus yard, each bus engine diagnostics would be automatically downloaded at no additional cost via WiFi to the shop foreman's computer without requiring anyone to go out to the bus and plug into the onboard engine computer. In the case where the bus is parked away from the bus yard each night, the engine diagnostics would be downloaded via WiFi when it appeared at the bus yard for routine maintenance such as oil changes.
• Routing - we can create a route and send it to driver as well as monitor the route taken. .
• Maintenance management system with notification & work orders - Schedule your buses for regular maintenance and have reminders sent to your computer prior to the shop visit and then print a work order. Keep a maintenance history on your fleet. Maintenance & Manage Costs - with automatic alerts to upcoming routine maintenance and alerts to onboard maintenance issues in real time before a breakdown you can become more efficient and economical.
• Add sensors to report on such things as Red Alternating lights, Yellow alternating lights, Stop Arms and lights, doors, emergency exits and even Block Heater Use for those companies who pay for overnight plug ins at remote locations.
• Panic buttons for drivers - for those times when visual proof is required of situations taking place on the bus, send an alert followed by onboard video camera footage in real time to a predetermined location for viewing and storage or notification of authorities.
• Automatic Accident reporting - in the event a bus is involved in an accident and automatic alert would be sent to a predetermined location so that emergency response could be alerted.
• Driver ID and Electronic Driver reports - know which driver is operating the bus that day and monitor their driving habits.

Traceability of the Children With RFID & GPS:

• RFID reader on bus automatically reads student Active RFID card with driver override capability for the driver to record students who have forgotten their RFID cards and boarding bus.
• Automatic student ID Number sent via cellular/GPRS along with time, date, and GPS location of pick up or drop-off giving exact location should that be needed in the future.
• Web Access for Parents - Give parents peace of mind - Secure web page for parents to confirm bus schedule and the status of their children (on or off the bus, in transit or dropped off at school) - Parents would have the opportunity to go on the web from any computer (home or work) to confirm bus schedule (on time/late) if their child got on the bus and if so, what time as well as when did they get off the bus at school. They can even see where the bus is throughout its route.
• Know if your child got off the bus at a friend's house - Have an alert generated in real time and a message sent to the parent if a child gets off at a different stop than normal unless prior arranged.
• Future - expand RFID to increase visibility and traceability of students while in the school building

Options - With Smart Display:

• Electronic Road maps and directions for the drivers - Give your drivers the added safety feature of electronic road maps with routes especially useful for those school buses used for charters as they venture into new areas.
• Two way messaging to and from bus - Send those important messages to the driver and give the driver the ability to reply or generate a message when they are stopped or parked. Have a traceable record of all messages sent or received.
